impossible to connect to irc

Hello,
I am having a problem connecting to the irc. It either connects too fast or i have errornouss characters in my name. I want to connect but it has never worked. Please help...

Very simple error, before you connect to the IRC server, make sure you are logged out of forums, When you are logged out, try and connect.
Once connected. type /nick `90000234
**NOTE**: You cannot have numbers at the start of your name, so have a symbol there.
