I wanted to make a thread for people who own a Philips 42" Flatscreen and have problems with it, for instance, mine at first, would only go black on one half of the screen(top), and then a couple days ago, it deteriorated to lines across the screen and red dots. I've heard from other vBulletin forums that the cost to fix this would be an outragous $300-900. I'm thinking about just buying a whole new television.

I will try some easy remedies in a while, see if that stirs it into motion. And the problem will occur at any given time, like when I'm watching cable tv, watching a blu-ray or regular DVD, playing Playstation, etc. If anyone knows how to cure this, without blowing a burning hole in my pocket, please post.

Screw it, I'm going out to buy a new TV.
LCD is the way to go now, if I buy another plasma, I'll be in the same dilemna again in 2 years.
