I have been trying for a long time to delete Adobe reader 8, but every time i try to uninstall it won't let me, so I went to explorer and deleted everything i could related to adobe, but there is one file called AcroIEHelper.dll that I don't have "permission" to access, I even tried ending explorer and deleting it with cmd but access was denied. have been trying for a long time to delete Adobe reader 8, but everytime i try to uninstall it won't let me, so I went to explorer and deleted everything i could related to adobe, but there is one file called AcroIEHelper.dll that I don't have "permission" to access, I even tried ending explorer and deleting it with cmd but access was denied

try using a program called unlocker, or you could try to gain control of that file, when you right click that file and go to properties do you get a tab that says security?
ok if you dont see a tab that says Security than go to my computer than go to tools>folder options once there go to the tab that says View than go to the check box that says use simple file sharing make sure this is NOT checked. than apply the settings you have just made if you have.
Now if you do see the security tab click that click the add botton than type in the name of your account on that computer like mine is Tyler than click check names than your accout should come up and click ok make sure you have the boxes check that you have full control.
P.S this is a guide for windows xp pro. you need to be in safe mod i think on windows home on the admin acc but not for sure

when you run cmd, right click on it and say "run as administator" if you already didnt. then you might have access to delete it.

that may work but im guessing that only the SYSTEM has access to it, but worth a try:)
it could be that your not on the administrator account or it auto runs when you start up if that is the case you will have to start up in safe mode and then uninstall it
that wasnt so hard

actually all of those won't really help much. u would need to reinstall it then send it all to a special floder, and finally move the whole file to another place, i'd suggest using a flash drive and then evrything that has to do with adobe will be on ur drive and off ur comp. then go to ur public libary and then delete it there by useing ur drives company site, to remove it off ur drive and disposed of. or use comand promt after its on ur flash drive.

Keep adobe? :)
OMG We found the Correct answer!
1. There should be an Uninstall Adobe program thing in the folder.
2. If 1 didn't work, go to Control Panel > Add or Remove software > Anything that has the name "Adobe" in it and click on it and click "Remove" and it should automatically remove it without any of the file restrictions.
3. If your a dumbass and 1 AND 2 didn't work then go to Start > Accesories > System toos > System restore and restore your computer back to a certain date before it had anything Adobe on it But this is ONLY if you downloaded the Adobe program(s) to your computer and your computer did not come with the program(s) when it first came out.
