A friend told me about dodian, so its not just my fault. My friend recently told me that dodian is based on a game called runescape, so I tried runescape, and it was almost exactly the same. Can someone tell me why I should play Dodian and not Runescape, because there are a lot more friendlier people on runescape in terms of in game playing? There seems to be a lot more content for free to play members also. I am level 39 in dodian, (and quick levels is one good thing), but I have a feeling that Runescape will be a more long term enjoyment. Can someone prove me wrong, because I would really like to keep playing Dodian.

You're far more limited to what you can do on dodian. Runescape has godwars, mi****mes, all the good members things to do. It also has more items, which is always better to. Dodian has a far better community, and better staff. It doesn't have gay rules without reasoning. Easier to level, easier to get around in the map, unlimited run to :p

Wow, you now find out bout rs. Anyways. unlimited run, free teles, nicer community, and a lot more with dodian. Runescape you'll play for a little bit, and get bored. It's harder to lvl and make money on rs. Thus, stick with dodian.

Well, since the unbalanced trade thing happened in runescape i found my life to be on a long road of dodian.. Wanna Why? Well when i First came Here I met Nova.. She was a pure then Fletching here and there and helping everyone out including me. I found my character to be a skiller until now but anyways, she was very nice and is now an administrater.. I think you see why, but there is a lot more to do on dodian. And you dont have to worry About Jagex being all over your back. ( I Must warn you though Dodians Staff is very strict :/)

Alright, I'll explain pros and cons of Runescape and Dodian, no lies, no tricks to make you join us.

Runescape pros - Great game, updated a ton with great updates, pretty fun, and a good flowing economy.

Runescape cons - The long leveling ( During the leveling period you'll get bored out of your mind or addicted. ), the lower levels just get shut out basically until they get their mind set on being a rich level 100+. It has no forum community whatsoever, no post count, and your post usually gets bumped out within 5 days of the section, it really has no live chat for help, sure there are emails but that's not very quick.

Dodian pros - Great community, game, it's fun, different, not a copycat of Runescape. We have a great forum and in-game community, you can post and actually get answered by non-retards ( Most of the time. ). There are tons of things you can do here; you have IRC for example, it's a chatroom basically, if you don't want to download "mIRC" you can just use our link on the frontpage and it will bring you to a Java based IRC ( PJIRC ), you have the forums in which you can make posts, share your graphic arts, and just have a laugh. The BIG reasons this is set aside from other servers...: A great economy ( You can actually have set prices on items that are based on supply and demand ( Such as runescape does ), you have a huge number of people online. We have a great staff team, hand picked and not just "friends" who become staff. You HAVE to earn staff, and anyone can.

Dodian cons - Sometimes you'll find jerks here, sometimes the server crashes ( Not much, it's pretty stable. ), sometimes you won't see updates for a long time ( Dodian 4.0 is coming out ( The new server, Ub3r ( Dodian 3.0 ) will stay up though. ). Sometimes you'll find little "eRebels" here.

For example, the Dodian staff actually cares about their players, unlike JaGeX. They aknowlege your existance, aswell as most of the community. The Dodian forums are also better, and there's more you can do on 'em. For example, you can post pictures. And another thing, the Dodian community (the better tenth of it) ain't a bunch of dumbasses who go "lolol ur lvl 70 and i 90 u n00b i pwn u". This community doesn't judge people by their combat level, but by their attitude. Do the players of RuneScape do that? No. Also, NO CENSOR IN-GAME. You can actually say "this sucks" without three nubs saying "omg reported". I hope this helped you decide wether you stay here or not.

They're only doing their duty. It's simple: you broke a rule, you're punished. They actually aren't really strict. I must have broken a dozen rules in front of mods and gotten away with it. Example: I say "oh, that guy is a total ****". Didn't get muted. They're very nice people once you get to know 'em a bit.

Anyways, Dodian rocks the hell of out Jagex, in terms that you can be friendly to anyone and you'll know alot of people. The community is still rather large but in no time you can be making loads of friends.

We have our own system of leveling up and all of our own bosses and economy. Infact, once Ub4r comes out we will be adding many new things, alot of which you can do in Runescape already, or even more new things that you can't do. We're looking to break barriers here, we're gonna give the community something that it can't stop talking about.

You've got to be kidding me. There's 1000x better things to do in Runescape than Dodian. At the moment I'm not playing neither much, just being here on forums. You might say, LVLing in RS is so *** slow. It lasts longer. People at Dodian pretty much got bored of RS and came here for easier way to get things done. Runescape is the base..so FKU :)

Not quite friendly, thats just my opinion.

We have a lot of jerks, just like any community. Asking staff is your best bet, or looking at the stickies in the guides section.

Basically everyone has their view on which is better. There's the lazy people who want 99's fast, etc. There are also the patient one's who actually want to enjoy the game.

Obviously the first view is Dodian, yes Runescape is boring, but once you get maybe.. 80+? It'll get pretty fun with all the cash you bring in. Dodian I will agree is fun, has a very friendly community and a very hard working staff, I will give them that. :)

The other view - Runescape is indeed yes a pain to bring skills up, etc. BUT, you actually get to enjoy the game, earning a TRUE 99 or money, etc. I personally would play Runescape, IF there were no membership stuff, everyone got all benefits.

Basically it's what type of person you are, lazy people go to Private Servers (Not just Dodian :p), and patient people who would like to accomplish go to Runescape.

Whatever your choice is, I'm sure it's the right one! :)

The people that are on the forum and/or IRC a lot, are the ones that you should (usually) ask the questions to. Really though, there's not much need for asking questions, unless of course you can't be bothered to read the extremely helpful guides (http://dodian.com//forums/forumdisplay.php?f=116) (that members created).

There's no doubt that the majority of the members here are immature, idiots. What do you expect though? As much as I would enjoy a community of precocious, well-rounded, respectful individuals... that's just an unattainable goal.

What astonishes me Noles, more than anything else, is the fact that everyone on the forum is nice, but the majority of the people in the game are jerks. Too bad the game is not set on the forums(LOL). Why can't I find you forum people in - game?

Anyhow, I played more today and leveled from 39 to 49, but still cant find a store that sells swords. I did the agility arena and got 8 tickets, which bought me mithril plate from some kind soul. I also played some Runescape but only got to level 7.

My comparison ends in a stale mate. Runescape is better flowing, but takes way too long to get levels up. Dodian has a bunch of angry gamers, who, with exception to the forums, couldn't care less about anyone else. Dodian is quicker to increase levels, which saves me a lot of time, but what use is it if the people are going to keep such a negative attitude about playing the game?

I guess to solve my debacle, I will just have to keep playing both Runescape and Dodian, until I find something fun in either, or better friends.

Dodian is a fun game which level u up faster and can be famous easier and can spot ur talent faster.U get to know more peeps and hang around with them and know much better and this make me addicted to Dodian and make me feel like playing everyday but getting hack crash it.

Runescape is fun yea but it is boring and now it looks like many peeps have stop playing rs from like 100k drop to a 70k players online from what i see.Runescape takes long and although games are more fun and more activitoes but Dodian have it as well when more players are joining so join us and play so it makes our community grow and have more fun in coming years=]

It does have a post count, you can click "my Profile" (or something along those lines) and it tells you how many posts you've made since you started.

If you want to ask people questions, I would advise you to not ask people around Yanille bank becuase a lot of people areound there really don't know anything (newbs). Most nicer people hang out around Taverly, Seers, or Catherby. They pretty much know a lot about the server and it's content.
