The only ways to cheat on RuneScape (and they're not even cheats) are:

1. Scamming. I am not telling you how to. But even with the trade limit put up, people can still do it. There are many types of scam;

The drop item scam. If someone tells you to hit ALT+F4 on RuneScape, especially while dropping an item, you are being scammed. ALT+F4 logs you out of the game. People take advantage of this by saying
Person 1: Hey do you want to duplicate items?
Person 2: Sure how
Person 1: Drop your Phat (or any expensive item) and then press ALT+F4 and it will duplicate! Then Person 2 drops their phat and logs out of the game, giving time to let Person 1 take the phat off the floor. Scammed.
NEVER PRESS ALT+F4 IT CLOSES YOUR GAME WINDOW AND LOGS OUT OF THE GAME!

The trade scam. Someone puts a noted mith scimmy, 2-H, etc. in a trade and claims it to be a rune one. Mith and Rune are very similar colours and when noted you could just barely see them so it looks like it's rune. Then the other person pays the cash for a rune version to the other person. Scammed.
NEVER BUY NOTED ITEMS UNLESS THEY ARE FREE BUT ALSO DONT BEG.

2. Hacking. The most common cheat, or HACK, as it is called, in the game. Someone says to someone "Want free membership/gold/items/levels?"
Other person says "Yeah" Then previous guy says "Send me your password backwards in private chat and PIN if you have one, log off for about an hour and log in again and your wish has been granted." He tells the guy his password, logs out for an hour and the other guy either changes the password and recoveries and has the account to himself or transfers all the items to his better main account.
NEVER ENTER YOUR PASSWORD, NORMALLY OR BACKWARDS OR IN ANY FORM, EXCEPT FOR LOGGING IN TO RUNESCAPE.

3. Moparscape (also illegal). This game is just like RuneScape except you can spawn any item or gold you wanted, raise your levels to 99 with codes, and do just anything you want. BUT THIS IS ILLEGAL SO DONT DO IT.

4. Cheat Engine. This isn't really illegal, it's more for showing off to friends. It changes the amount of money you have, from say 1gp to 999m or anything. But it's just for show. When you try to bank or use it, it goes back to the original amount. But you could take a snapshot of the fake money and show to friends.

See? No real hacks for RuneScape. Stop looking and just play the game it was meant to be played! It only took me 11 months to get to level 72 so it shouldn't be too hard for you.

Exactly. But I just guess that some people will never learn. They read hundreds of "Cheat articles" but it's all (censored). Atleast some people realise that there are no cheats.

It's not illegal to play on private server or even make them. The only thing that will be wrong is if Jagex themselves ask you to take down your server and you don't.

1. You can use bots, autoers in RuneScape. (ex. RSBot SVN) < Still works as 1/24/09
2. MoparScape is NOT illegal in any way, it's just like Dodian.
3. The trade limit wouldn't let you put 40-100k in for a rune scimmy, and then buy a mith scimmy. It would say the difference between the item and gold is too big.

Yes ofcourse thats bannable.

But a private server isnt 'botting or macroing'

macro's are used so you press a key, and you say something.
Usually something like
"Buy gold from X6* Now! 1m = 2 USD!"

And such.

Botting is using a program, so your hands are free to do what ever else you want.

A private server, is a self-created server, or a server created by someone else.
They mostly give all rights of the origonal game to JaGeX LTD.

Using a private server can sometimes get your runescape account banned, for disloyalty to runescape, and they can suspect you for trading accounts between both games.

Selling runescape accounts, for other game/s accounts, Is bannable.
For Real cash, it can be temporarily jailable (In real life jail)
Depending on if you sold your account for more than 100$ USD (Highly unlikely though)

Moparscape, Frugooscape, Misthalin, Dodian, and any other private server, IS NOT against the rules of JaGeX, Or a violation of their copyright terms, As long as you do not advertise your server, on their game.

(For an example)
Going into runescape, any world.
And saying:
"Join dodian! the free runescape private server!! Easier stats, A LOT easier cash!"
Would get the server shut down, and everyone playing dodian, and everyone making the move from runescape, to dodian, would lose their runescape accounts.

Advertising your private server on RUNESCAPE
Will get the server into trouble
Trading your Dodian (Or any other private server accounts)
for a RUNESCAPE account, Will get the server shut down, depending on how often the server has these problems.
Selling your runescape account for real cash, or other things of value, will get it banned.

Runescape accounts are worth a lot, if they are good.
Most 90's on runescape generally have 800+ total level.
They would be worth maybe 50-100$ USD at the maximum.
But selling them will mean all of your time will have been put to a waste.

Private servers accounts are good, and fun to have.
But allthough not as much of a waste of time, they are worthless.
Worth 0-1$ USD at the very maximum.

Never trade accounts between servers or runescape.
Trading A Dodian account for a Dodian account, MIGHT be allowed if the admin allows it.

I am only saying all of the above, as a precaution, and as a warning.
If you choose not to listen to it, then that is your choice, All im trying to do is help the server keep out of trouble.

A lot of people now are trading accounts, if the server gets shut down, its blood will be on your hands :)
