I'm going to keep it plain and simple and not go into any Music Theory but I will say this, playing Acoustics can make you a great guitar player. Now when you think of "Acoustic" you don't think it's a genre, but it is. Almost every single one of your favorite artists has made an acoustic recording. So what does Acoustic mean? Acoustic means no "enhancements" or anything. It's purely your voice, a beat similar to that of the "enhanced" version, and an acoustic guitar. A great example of this is Mariyln Manson's "Coma White"

Electric/"Enhanced" version:

In this version, Mariyln's voice is obviously enhanced, has alot of synth beats in it, a background acoustic, heavy bass, heavy drum beats, and electric guitars

Acoustic Version:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pv3_zK8e47Q

In this version, it is all acoustics. Marlyn's voice is natural, little to no drum beats, no electronics/synth beats, a few electric guitar parts.

Another example of great Acoustic playing

Darkest Hour - Pathos (Don't mind the video, the song that plays is Pathos and is all purely played on four acoustic guitars)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQMn0cTYAcM

An example of Acoustics in metal:
Nothing Else Matters - Electric/"enhanced" version
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lljBSQdlvY
In this version, well recognized electric guitar introduction, simple drum beat, basslines, basicaly, it's your every day run of the mill electric metal song.

This is the Acoustic version:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCja8H37o3Y
besides the orchestra in the background, this is purely acoustics.

As you can see, there is a massive difference between the "enhanced" versions of these songs and the Acoustic variations. If you have a favorite song, I'll bet anything that there is either A) an offical acoustic version B) an acoustic cover by someone on Youtube or C) there is one, but can't be found anywhere.

I would appreciate a sticky pls.

Or:
Acoustic means natural. So therefore, there is no electricity or any side ons involved in playing an acoustic instrument.

Don't gravedig. Gravedigging is when you post in a thread that has not been replied to in 15 days or more. It leads to an infraction, if not a ban.

Do not go around double posting either.

I know you want 15 posts to be able to post your graphic art, but you should earn it fairly. Don't go around breaking the rules for it.

You don't have to get all to the point of what this word means, with its definition.. its just to post some acoustic songs that you like or think are acoustic... Jeez people..
