Xbox 360's have ownage games and a good system, apart from the fact that they can sound like a jet engine.
Most of the noise is actually the dvd drive spinning at high speeds, some people think that about 90% of the xbox 360's noise is from the dvd drive, when you watch dvd's it goes quiter, when you play games, it goes louder and if there is no game in the drive it hardly makes a sound.
A lot of people think the xbox 360's noise is from the fans, but only a small amout of the noise is actually the fans.

Xbox 360's also have a major overheating problem. About 33% of the world's xbox 360's hard drives have overheated, making them unusable. The fans are hardly strong in the xbox 360, they are only 60mm fans and are very small. On a 38 degree celcius day, the xbox 360 can reach up to temperatures of 100 degrees celcius, which is enough to boil water. So if you want to play it on a really hot day and afraid it is going to overheat, you can try a Nyko intercooler, which clips onto the back of the console, and blows normal fan air into the xbox. The only problem is, this creates more noise. I'd suggest that you just buy a small house fan or something that can keep it cool.

If you wish to clean the xbox 360, make sure you have a try cloth, not wet because that will stuff up the xbox 360 more then likely, and just give it a gentle whipe.

The red ring of death!

Each quadrant on the set of flashing red lights indicates a different issue..

If all of the lights but the first section are flashing, this means a general hardware failure has occurred. There is little to be done other than trying to unhook and reattach your cables. This problem is a sure sign a visit to the repair center is in your consoles future.

If the problem is indicated in the second quadrant of the system, it is merely overheating. The proposed cure here is to unplug the unit from the power supply, let it sit to cool down, and maybe search for a better location to put your xbox 360 and its future.

Problem indicated in the third quadrant of the Xbox 360 ring of light is diagnosed as a hardware failure. Once again, try re-inserting all of your cords and cables, but this problem should definitely be dealt with by the repair center.

If all four lights are flashing on the front of your console, this is perhaps the easiest problem to fix. This is an issue with the AV cable not being properly inserted into the back of the console. The cure? Just make sure the cord clicks once it has been inserted into the unit. If that doesnt work, of course call the repair center, but the four lights are the easiest of the problems to fix.

Apart from that, it is a very good gaming system and has good features, etc.

I was bored so I thought i'd post some info about it.

Yah good research:)

But a good way to keep your xbxo360 away from those devily rings is

step one: BUY AN INTERCOOLER!
step two: Clean Your Unreadable Disks
step three:DONT TAKE YOUR HARDDRIVE OUT WHILE YOUR XBOX360 IS ON!!!
step four:also helps to have you xbox standing up not laying down like a old dog

hope those help :) keep your xbox safe

I heard it is better if your xbox is laying down, because the side that you're ment to stand it up on actually has holes in it so the heat can come out.

I got the white box of Death, my Disk Tray kept opening and wouldn't shut. I accidently moved it when it was on, it had my halo 3 in it. So i guess something broke inside that held the tray shut. So I'm getting a new 360 soon they said about 2-4 weeks. Also got a new halo 3 they thought it was defective. :P

Maybe fragile, but a loving machine. Give it the right care and it will last longer, some people experience trouble, while others don't.
