in 3.0 You cant buy armour, exept if your premium then the guy in the general store, but it looks like your not. So either make your own or buy from other players. same goes for 4.0

pure pretty much sums it up but you can also get iron things from rats and addy things from mosses and some toher bosses drop rune/dragon ect.

Kill rats for iron armor/weapons.
Kill druids for mithril armor/weapons.
Kill Moss giants for Adamant armor/weapons.
Kill Dad for rune armor/weapons.
Or you can always buy them from players.
