Hi there.
As some of you may might know HannahF got perm banned from Dodian =) Well I have asked to be banned (posting on newly made acc now btw) and NOVA did the right thing by doing so.
As far as my reflections and Dodian experience go, I can only describe it as a total joke!! I have joined Dodian in November 2008 and managed to achieve 10 99 skills by March, only to come across a hurl of abuse, being accused of autoing, hacker and such like. The amount of racists on Dodian is probably enough to take over the planet at this point in time =) I realise that it is not necessarily an issue that Admins and Mods can handle, but in the past few days here I was crying out for help only to be told to f off almost literally.
The biggest problem with Dodian is that this server relies too much on a popularity system. I have seen consistent rule breaking from the so called ''elite'' players, whilst they have the majority of Mods in their pockets who let them get away with just about anything. Just goes to show that the Mod selection procedure on this server is not only a farce, but throws the whole entire selection system into a disrepute. I could have posted screenshots and waffled about it numerous times over the months that i was playing on Dodian, but what would be the point?? I know that nobody here would have given it a second thought cause I wasn't popular enough to be listened to.
Selecting a person who has effectively ruined the entire Dodian economy, to be a moderator was not only in bad taste, but goes against what Dodian as a server should stand for. Aren't you tired of trying to rule the world yet WOG/Frank??? Or is Dodian really does not care as long as he makes his $5.20?? I guess anything goes here, and that is what makes this server a total joke. Of course you can argue the fact that people come and people leave, but personal experiences and opinions do count and word spreads fast.
In my personal opinion the only descent and trustworthy people with good sence of judgement are NOVA, Cariz and ASIAN. But then again, they are almost inacessable due to their workload, and contacting them is almost impossible when a person needs help. The rest of the crew are merely pupets controlled by their ''best'' firends and the pixelated items they may receive when they do a favour.
I realise that many of you would disagree with my statement, and of course you are entitled to your opinions, but I am gladly sticking with mine. As far as experiences go, having played RS since Classic, currently having over 2300 skill total and being one of the top 250 players in RS, I am quite appauled by the state of Dodian, considering the fact that it is considered to be one of the best private servers.
Of course none of this affects me personally in any way in real life, but the myth that Dodian offers a better and more friendly community is well and truly broken, for me personally anyway. That doesn't mean I have given up, I will just have to look for another server to play, and I wish all the rest of you the very best of luck here.
