The Outback
Chapter 1, The Beginning.
One fine morning a young child named Thomas was busy playing his video games like his usual. Thomas liked to play his video games a lot, he spent hours at a time playing. He was quite a shy boy, who didn’t have many friends, except his one and only friend, Eugene. Eugene was also a video game fanatic, they played a lot at each others house. Both boys liked adventure, yet they never ventured far past there house. Yet they always wanted to go to the Outback, they thought of the Outback as a big adventure full of joy and excitement. They liked to study the Outback and were very fascinated over the fulfillment of venturing into the unknown. Susan, (Eugene’s mum) was protective of her son, and did not like the idea of Eugene and Thomas going to the Outback. She put a parental lock on all the sites on the internet containing information of the Outback. Eugene and Thomas always tried to use there school computers, yet they could only be on for 10 minutes at a time.
The next day it was back to school for both of the boys which upset them, due to the fact that they wouldn’t have enough time to research and study the Outback. When Thomas went to walk down to the nearest bus station to get dropped off, he found a letter which quickly got him interested. Thomas didn’t have time to look at it as the school bus had arrived. Thomas quickly shoved it in his bag and got on the bus. Thomas didn’t like catching the bus as there were many bullies and he had no friends on board, He was alone with bullies teasing him. Thomas didn’t like to show his tears, but that just bought his anger along. Thomas had ADHD a disease which creates a huge rush of anger which Thomas can’t control. Thomas always swore at the bullies and punched them, but that wasn’t good either as he would be bullied even more. Thomas was always afraid of telling his mum or his Headmaster about the bullies. After the bullying had occurred Thomas got off his bus and went to class.
“THOMAS! You’re late again!” screamed Mrs Anderson.
Thomas got yelled at a lot by Mrs Anderson as he was often late to class. Mrs Anderson gave Thomas a lot of detentions, at least one a day. Once Mrs Anderson settled down she had a quick talk with Thomas. Mrs Anderson was telling Thomas if he was late again he would be suspended. Thomas was scared, as if he was suspended that would mean his mum would ground him from his Video game for 3 months.
As the bell went for morning tea, Thomas went to Eugene who he hanged out with at lunchtime, they quickly sprinted to the computers to study the Outback. After the 10 minutes was over, Mr Lawhed introduced the next lot of people to the computer.
As the morning tea finished both Eugene and Thomas went to class. Mrs Anderson was waiting for Thomas to give his speech on the Great Wall of China, although Thomas hadn’t even written it. When Mrs Anderson called Thomas up he was quick to tell here that he had not finished it. Mrs Anderson was totally outraged! She sent Thomas to the headmaster for a caning. Thomas walked off to the headmaster with tears rolling down his eyes. The thought of the cane made Thomas shiver with fright and cry even louder. As he approached the headmaster, he had already had the cane roaring. Thomas was caned, he screamed as even more tears rolled down his eyes. Thomas was also given a 1000 word essay and made to read it to the whole school.
