There is no easy, as everyone has their own perspective. I think it can be talking about a lot of things. For instance, losing a loved one or betraying a loved one. But in the end I feel it's saying that you should love someone now, because tomorrow you may not be able to.

Umm, I think this means that when you leave your love ones, you will only feel sadness, there will be no happiness in your life. You will also, maybe end up wanting to come back, but knowing that they will end up not excepting you because of what you did before.

It's easy to stray away from the ones you love. It will hurt, and it can happen so fast that you won't even know what's coming. You might try and fix it up, but once it's done, sometimes it will never be fixed.
I never really posted in these topics that made because I didn't get it, but now I do. You want us to guess what the hidden message in the quote is?

There is no hidden message. I want you to tell me what the quote means to you.

Having to lose the one you love will mean life will not be the same; you will find it hardly worth living.

Have a go. This one is easy.
One you let go of the things/people you love there is no going back, it will never be the same.

There are so many other ways to twist your 'cliff' metaphor - I agree with Distrubed and Masuraki's opinions of the quote, but the cliff can also depict how leaving your loved ones also doesn't bear any positive result. Unless you are jumping off of a cliff into a marshmellow canyon, it will (as your quote says) hurt and there is no way to undo it. The same can be said about leaving your loved ones - no matter if your reasons revolve around being noble or self-righteous or perhaps you just think you or your loved ones will be better off; it will likely hurt and have no immediate positive result (unless you're one of those sorrow saps who enjoys the sadness).

I think of it as "Something you should avoid doing. You may regret it later, 'cause it wouldn't be easy to climb that cliff."

My opinion about this quote is that.. Leaving your family has the same pain as jumping from a cliff, also when you jump from a cliff it is probably a one way trip because depending on the pain you might not want to go back and try again, as leaving your family might hurt enough for you never wanting to go back or them never wanting you back.

Don't get to close to the edge of a cliff, or you might fall.
And possibly land on a close one, and hurt them.
