Started this a while ago (simply one of many works in progress).
Paint a smile on my face,
Pretend I’m all right.
Get me out of this place,
I can’t be here tonight.

Thoughts racing through the hour,
Losing you, what a mess.
Good friends will overpower,
This loneliness.
Wipe away those tears,
Don’t act like you’re upset.
You know you did this, dear,
You’re the reason for this fit.
Think about it deep inside,
Questions racing through my head at night.
Laying in my bed so confused,
I let out a midnight sigh.
Thoughts racing through the hour,
Losing you, what a mess.
Good friends will overpower,
This loneliness.
These thoughts unspoken,
Incoherent lies left on walls bare.
With a jerk, I am woken,
While objective eyes stare.
So let’s look at this situation,
Let’s not look back.
As we dive deeply into trepidation,
The lights go black.
In this game I’ll swing twice,
Let’s hope I hit the ball this time.
Here we go, all or nothing,
I won’t be nice.
