View Full Version : Dodian Wars...? Wut?
I'm not trying to be an ass or rag on Dodian Wars or anything, but is it always going to be as boring as it is now? Like what purpose does it serve? I don't understand how it could be entertaining..
Sorry.

What it basicly is is a strategic game to play in the backround whilst doing something else i find it addicting :)

No it won't stay as boring as it is now, Winted is updating it, as it's in it's beta stage.
Don't worry, it will be a good, fun and addictive game in the near future.

Really? It's not very action-packed like I was hoping it would be. I can't seem to play it for more than 30 seconds without being bored out of my mind.

It's just beta, check out the skin he is adding to it. It is going to be entertaining to some individuals and boring to others.

The game is going to be getting updated and changed over time. It's currently in the Beta stage, therefore lacking in quite a lot of things. It will remain a Browser based game like it is currently. It won't be "action packed" like other games, where you can watch the combat and affect it in real time.
The game is more for people who like strategy and working with friends to achieve victory over other players. Or even working alone to try and fend off the attacks of large groups of enemies(alliances). It is very strategy and time oriented, so if you don't have patience, the game will not be for you.

I don't really understand where the 'game' part comes into this 'game'. I don't understand how clashing alliances or whatnot without actually seeing some sort of action or animation could be fun to anyone?

Great description. Nonetheless I dislike games like this. It really bummed me out when I made an account and was unable to log on to some sort of world with lots of Galactic action, or whatever is supposed to be happening.

The people that like these types of games like the knowledge that the massive attack their alliance put on an enemy has completely crippled him, knowing that everything they worked on over the last (day, month, week, etc.) is strong enough that it can fend off any attack, or generate an attack large enough that nobody can defend against it.
It's a different mindset than what you find entertaining. Sort of like people who would rather read a book than play Xbox.

The way you describe it makes it sound fun. Playing the actual game is the boring part. I guess I will still use the forums, I was just hoping for a little more out of Dodian Wars. Thanks for your descriptive information.

Anytime. Just check on your account every once in a while. You would be surprised what can be done with games like that.

I'll make sure too.

So do we get a beta testing thing if we are currently playing it?

What purpose did the server serve?
What purpose did the server serve?
In my opinion, when I played, it served as a fun, action packed, easy version of one of the greatest MMO's ever made. The choices/paths you could take were endless.

Exactly, now think of the units and buildings as skills, and the other settlements as the players you can fight against. In my opinion, DodianWars and the Uber server are similar in many ways.

Except without the animation and ability to view your progress with pixels or actual movement or progression of a character. But, you do have a point. The concept is similar.

Yes. Though the swastika may represent peace, it's a symbol that also represents the death of millions; I do not like to see it.

It wasn't there to harm anyone or disrespect anyone. I have Nazi ancestry. It was a symbol of heritage or culture.
