My Stuff Keeps Getting Deleted

Well, it's been my 4th time now I believe. Sometimes my laptop just randomly doesn't work. The start bar and all the programs disappear. I'm not even sure why. Then that causes me to PC recovery my laptop causing me to loose everything.

The only stuff I really download is renders, and c4ds.

I'm totally tossed off that my computer has to be reset every few months, no idea why even.

Does anybody know what I can do before downloading stuff to make sure it's not a virus? Does anybody know why my computer's start bar and programs just disappear once in a while?

I'm just really confused and ticked off right now, so if anybody could help, Thanks.

I would say re-install your whole system. Once done, download FireFox. After that, download CCleaner and plugins you need (Adobe, Java, etc.) from the original sites. Then after all that is done, every time you go to restart your computer, run CCleaner before you do anything. Now for downloading C4D's and renders, only go to sites listed in the resources section on these forums. Those are safe.

Solution: Re-install windows vista

Reason: It's vista and it never works right.
