Status of community and forums

Well, as you all have seen, the community and forums are in shambles. Between the cover ups and lies going on around here its suprising the forums have even lasted this long. The one admin that we actually have is Guthan. Guthan WAS a good admin, until she hid behind a cover up, Know as. "I Do things behind the scenes". Well after some intense investigations, I think that is a load of crap. First shes never on, servers gone so theirfore no tickets, and seems to be on vacation often. I think that the only high ranked person who cares anymore is neosback, and mastav. Also, Thier is a lack in authoritive figures at certain times. The adminstrative team, is just dead terrible. Its the biggest caue of things going to pot around here. With one admin who is never here, doesnt do crap, and bascly left the forums to rot. Also, the amount of scams in the black market and other runescape associated trades are beggining to mount up, although action was taken, It dosnt stop it from happening again. It dosnt have to end like this, but if thiers not major changes to staff, this community will be finished shortly. As soon as asian quit, it was like pulling the power on dodian, guthan dosnt do anything, dodian as a community is a ticking time bomb dodianwars may be our only hope for a rivival. I personally blame it on the heirarchy in this community, in a time of hardness, most of them have turned tail and hid.

All in all the community is in a serious downturn, that may end this coomunity.

This is the reason we need a change in the way we go about selecting staff. I honestly believe we need to remove the current administration, and give some new people a shot at it.

I obviously don't mean some ****ing idoite who believes he/she knows everything and can do everything on his own. That is in no means a view on the situation any administrator should have. An administrators needs to be active in the community, review all suggestion properly and consider them with the others. It's a complex job filled with all sort of different jobs to do, and I think if we give some people we know whom are trustworthy and can handle the job positions I believe we can turn this **** around.

We should have gotten a new administration a long time ago, the only reason why anyone noticed was because Asian quit, he was doing everything that needed to be done and no one was complaining of his work, now no one is doing any work and people are noticing. The reason the forums are falling apart is because there is no more server, that was the way people used to communicate with their friends and peers. Now that that is gone most people don't just want to talk, they also want to be entertained while talking to people they know and they relate to. These forums weren't fully centered on the server, but the server was a main part of the forums, now that that's gone, no one wants to just sit around and talk, most people who have been here for a long time are growing up and actually getting off there asses and getting a life. I don't want to see this community fall apart, but I think it just might happen if we don't get a new administration, and not one that is still stuck about thinking of the server.

All I can say is that the forum people like beginners might be the next moderator.Don't count it out yet.People that are online for longest of times and don't get appreciated.Those are the people we need because if their online the most they can help a lot.We need more moderators in the case.Its just my suggestion.Maybe 2 or 1 more spot in the team.That's up to Dodain community though.

Noles was the perfect administrator, before Yarik done somethings lol'... Neosback, Marisa, Mastav, and Every1die4 are the people that, I think, should get administrator. Neosback and Mastav have a loads of experience, and Marisa and Every1die4 are the one giving the most to server.

The forums have been "dead" since the server closed. But as Tim said, its not just the mods fault. Its ours aswell.. We dont post good topics, no one wants to know. Until we post something worthy of reading we're boned.

At first, Guthan was doing "Behind the scenes"... Now I have second thaughts. She IS a great admin. She just needs to pull her boots up and get down to work. Neosback? Mastav? Admin? No.

Mastav I could agree with, he was a good admin. But he made mistakes, everyone does. But his were in some ways extreme.

If we want a new admin(s) its Lhazerghost(Syndicate) or Every1Die4. They're both active, and they're allways cleaning the forums up. They're the people who deserve it most.

But as Tim said, think about it. Untill we post anything worthy of reading, who really cares? The forums ARE going to die out. Its a fact, there isnt much left here. Simple as.

We have DodianWars to support the forums. We just need an administrator whom is willing to market the product and really get it's name out there. Just like we did with the server.

I stick to the Literary section mostly, and avoid posting in topics that I don't have much to add to, thus my low post count. I still peruse the other forums when I get bored (which is way too often) and from what I've seen, the staff aren't the only ones to blame. Yes, it would be nice to have an Administrator that is actually available, but more than anything I'd like to see some maturity out of any new elected staff. When it comes to making decisions as a staff member, there should be no emotions used whatsoever. It's all in the best interest of the community. I've been a staff member in multiple other games, and it's always the same problems - inactivity, laziness, or just plain idiocy in decision-making. If new staff are to arise, it needs to be mature, level-minded people.

As has been mentioned before, though, there could be a lot more input from the members here. If I were involved in Runescape (I fell out of it a long time ago; I'm just not interested in putting my time and money into anything the Jagex team can take away on a whim) then I'd be involved in the Runescape areas of the forum. I'm a Literary Artist, and therefore submit any useful criticism I can on literary submissions, as well as submit my own from time to time. It's all about what you're interested in. Why are you here? What do you want to see change around here (aside from the popular "staff issue)? Be the change you want to see. This community will always be give and take - give a little...post something in Off Topic if you're not into the Arts or Runescape. Get into Graphic Arts. Hell, get more into the Music or Movies sections. Everyone loves music and movies. Complaining will get us nowhere...well, aside from a full thread in General Discussion.

I agree somewhat with Briese, but I also believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinions. We honestly don't need any new staff members, besides maybe one or two new administrators, and knocking Guthan off of the list it a must.

It seems like all some of you guys want to do is bash Guthan rather than improve the community, which is, to my understanding, the purpose of muggy's post. What's with the obsession to get rid of Guthan anyways? Her being an admin isn't hurting anyone, and although it's not benefitting anyone either, shouldn't the focus be on promoting a new admin rather than dethroning one that is never seen? In my experience, change has been brought about much easier with progressive thinking rather than negative bickering.
