Although poetry is one of the most popular types of literature, especially on these boards; it's obviously not the only type. Literary Creations is a new competition / possible series that will be hosted by Marisa and myself on a monthly basis, and it will require a participant to rely on more than just poetry or short stories.

This month's contest will be a simple one - create a character. We're not looking for a simple mailman or love-struck teenager. They need a backstory, a family, a favorite color, etc. They do not need a story. I want any Literary Artist who reads about your character to have enough information on them and know them well enough to actually write a story about them if they had to. Why? Because that's part of the prize.

Prize: A Custom Usertitle and the oppurtunity to have your character be centered in a story written by the Literary Artist of your choice. The story will be read and possibly judged by the community and your character and their story will be included in the Creations archives.

Objective: Create a unique and interesting character, in-depth.
Prize: Custom Usertitle and your character as the main character in a story written by your choice of Literary Artist.
Entries are due by: August 1st

Character Name: Zach
Bio: Zach is a 14 year old boy who is growing up on the sunny shores of california
his biggest fears are being alone and heights. He often feels like he is the only sain person in the world around him and the world is constantly going down hill.
Yet he finds himself giving advise to all his friends around him when they despretly need it although he is the one who needs help the most.
he constantly is looking around trying to find that one person who he can talk to and finally show his true colors.
Zach is just comming to that age where girls are the number 1 thing in his life, he has come close to asking girls out in the past but has never brought himself to it.
He has 1 dog and he feels that is the only thing in this world he can share his emotions with.
Favorites: His favortie things to do are
Swimming

Dancing
Hanging with Friends
Basketball
Track
Dislikes: The people and things he hate most are
People who act like they are perfect even tho he can see right through them
Other then that he is usually a fun loving person who can always see the best in people even tho he hates that part about him.

Character name: A.J. ( Anthony James)
Locaion: The eastern coast of Florida, the suburbs in between Miami and Fort Lauderdale
Bio: A.J. is a fifteen year old football player. He is constantly judging and exploiting everyone on his bad side. Usually a nice person, he can turn cruel in an instant if you insult him or his family. He is strong for a person of his size (5 feet 10 inches, and 185 pounds.) He loves video games, especially strategy games. He has an average social life for someone his age, and has only gotten into one "ordeal" with law enforcement. He loves magic, and all the mystery that surrounds it. Thats part of the reason that he got in trouble with the law.

His mother and father are divorced, and live about fifteen minutes apart. He spends the weekends with his mother in a nice apartment, and weekdays with his father, because it's closer to his school. He struggles in math, and attempts writing comics and comedic books. His friends enjoy his quirky, yet perverted sence of humor, and he has yet to finish a book, because of his lack of time.

He is afraid of losing things that he spent alot of time on.
He doesn't like failure, and is a perfectionist

This is my character, he is based off of myself, and my best buddy C.J.

Biography: Galleux is a small boy at the age of 8. He has not fully developed his feelings and is having mixed emotions right now. He was abused as a young child, until his father was sentence to life inprisonment due to the murder of Galleux's older sister, which has put even more of a downer on him. He lives with his Mother & her new boyfriend, who is a very friendly person. Until the age of 7, as well as being abused by his father, he was bullied by the other kids at school for that reason; his father. He has only just overcome that, and is trying to forget his brutal past and think bright for the future.

Becuase people will still see conflict with it no matter what.

Name: Alice
Biography: Alice was a young girl who had just turned eleven. For her birthday her wealthy father, owner of a very successful business decided to throw a grand birthday party at their luxurious eight bedroom mansion.
As her father was the owner of a very successful and very respected business, as you could probably understand, he had his enemies.
Alice was often accompanied at all times, however she felt that her personal life would have been much better if she wasn't around her father. She often thought of running away, but she couldn't bring herself to leave as she feared for his well being as well as her own. As Alice had all these thoughts going through her head, she often has thoughts of suicide as she felt that life was not worth living if she couldn't have her own.

Bio: Brett has just moved to florida he is really protective about his video games, his favorite game system is called the nintendo wii. He doesn't like moving because he always thinks something is gonna happend to his nitendo wii. He is very protective of it he keeps it in his room beside his computer. He invites friends over to play his favorite game called Super mario galaxy. Its one of his favorite games for the nitendo wii, he plays it everyday. His biggest fear is the dark. He is a single child in his favorite things to do is playing the nitendo wii, basketball, hanging with friends. His dislikes are cable guys.

Bio: Slammy, who's real name is Samuel Toombs, is a bald headed, short, and slim boy who wants to fit in more than he wants to live. He's willing to do anything to be popular or to fit in with the crowd he's in. He's an oblivious, slightly obnoxious teen aged 15. Will he ever be accepted? Well when he tells the teachers that his friends are smoking outside so they'll be a little late for class, I sincerely doubt it.
