I'm here to help anyone with any computer related problem. If you're infected with a virus, malware/etc, I should be able to guide you through the steps on how to get your computer back to normal.
Your computer not running at the speed it should be? I'll help you clean up your PC.
I will do this for both Windows based, OSx based and Linux distros (Including Ubuntu).
Please feel free to post your problem in this thread. No skiddie stuff like "How do I take a screenshot." Google that crap. I'm here for serious stuff.
All guides are for Windows XP. If you have Vista, it is basically the same really.
How do I view my System Information?
If you don't know how much RAM you have, it is very simple to find out
1. Go to the Start menu and click on 'My Computer.'
2. On the left hand side you should see a heading called 'System Tasks.' Underneath it, you should see 'System Information.' Click on that and let the popup window load.
3. Make sure the 'General' tab is selected. You should see a window like this:

I'm just curious, are you going to help people through teamviewer?
Just thinking that it may be hard to explain how to fix serious problems through forum posts. :p

The easy way is to get OSx. :D Then sign up at the iPhone devolpment centre and the rest is pretty straight forward.
In your case however, there are a few options. You could of Google'd and found a tutorial on doing this yourself but I think I've found a way.

Just have a good internet Connection.
www.ubuntu.com - Get 8.10 or 9.4
I can't really assist you on this one since I've just got the SDK on my Mac. :D
Hey, my laptop's really slow from a while. I know I need to upgrade ram, but I think there might be another problem.
Compaq Presario
F750US Notebook
1 Gig ram
160 GB drive
2.2 GHz
Using Mcafee, planning on getting Nod 32.
Using CCleaner weekly, disk cleanup every 2 weeks, same for fragment.

Virtualization FTW
Vtech, The reason that your computer is slow is because you have so little RAM.. My computer runs on about 1gb of ram at startup. You can easily get upgrades for you RAM.

To be honest, the main problem with why computers run slow is because of the lack of maintanence. It's just really a matter of going through your system and getting rid of the things you don't need. Another reason can be malware/trojans/viruses/etc. In that case, download Malware Bytes - Anti Malware and that should fix the problem.
