This guide can be found on the runescape website: I made this under my runescape username. This guide is mine, and I have some updates (put in parenthesis)
Requirements:
Lv 1 Smithing
Recomended:10k-2m cash
25 magic (for varrock teleport) (or a teletab)
(Prince Ali Rescue for full access to the Al Kharid gate)
Step 1: Mining your ores*
*This is only for people who have the 10k-2m cash to spend on ores.
Requirements: Level 1 mining.
Mine 500 copper and 500 tin.
Step 2:Smelting your ores
Make the ores you bought (or mined) into into bronze bars
500 copper = 81x500= 40500
500 tin= 58x=29000
Cost of Bronze Bar= 81+58= 139 gp
1 bronze bar= 209gp. 70 gp profit per bar
500x70=35000 gp profit and around 16 smithing.
This should get you high enough smithing to smelt iron bars for profit. DONT! Iron bars fail to refine sometimes and its not worth the profit.
Step 3: Smelting more bars.
Smelt bronze bars until you have 30 smithing. whether you need to make runes (smelting 50 bars at a time until you can make more ores) Or if you buy in bulk
If you started from level 1, Then you should have made 2,156 bronze bars.
Thats 299k profit.
Now its time for steel bars
Step 4: Steel bars
Buy 2 coal and 1 iron with your 300k profit. This is just profit. If you had any starting cash, thats an addition to the ores you can afford.
If you made 300k, you can afford 500 steel bars.
Coal= 208 gp
Iron= 135 gp.
You need 2 coal and 1 iron to make steel bars.
It costs 551gp to make a steel bar.
Steel bars sell for 737 each.
Thats 186 gp profit.
Smelt steel bars until levevl 50 smithing. Make runs if you need to.
It takes 5,027 steel bars from level 30 to level 50 smithing.
186x5,027=935,022
So far you've made around 1.2m and gained 50 smithing levels.
Next up is mith bars.
Step 5: Mithril bars.
You have 1.2m to spend on coal and mithril ore.
You have enough money to afford about 900 mith bars.
1 mithril bar takes 4 coal and 1 mithriil ore to make.
Remember to have a teleport tab (for members) or the runes for a teleport to varrock. You can always use the home teleport to lumbridge and use the gate.
Mithril bars cost 1128 gp to make and sell for 1410. Thats 282gp profit.
Do this until lv 70
Final recap:
Lets recap how much we made
we made 935k from steel bars and 299k from bronze bars.
Its 20,000 mithril bars until level 70 smithing.
At 282 profit per bar, thats 5,640,000 gp!!!!
You've made 6.5m and gotten up 70 levels in smithing!!!!!!

if your bars don't sell right away, then sell them for lowest. You still make considerable profit.
You can make profit with every bar except blurite, elemental, and iron.
