Can you? Can you use ps2 games on the ps3?

My friend say's his friend has one and it wont let him play ps2 games on the ps3.

Does it matter on which ps3 you get, because there are different models out for the ps3.

And if it does matter on which model, which model should i get that i can play ps2 games on?




To answer this kalo since it got locked its the 60gb one thats backwards compatible

Check (http://www.us.playstation.com/Support/CompatibleStatus) that website to see if ps2 games are compatable with ps3.

Some are and some arent.
