Are we going to start it up or what? The SOTM is already up. We shouldn't talk about this and not do it. If we're going to put it up, let's put it up now. Lets agree on something in this thread TODAY and catch up with the Graphic section. I'm happy with the point system idea. If we do the point system, the prizes need to be something server related and forum related.

Here is my view for the point system.

Using either a thread on here or a thread on Ubi's website, we create a list of anyone who submits their piece to LOTM. This will also help us keep track of users that are banned from LOTM by the way. First place receives five points. Second receives three. Third receives one. Each can be redeemed for a prize (Which we need to agree on). The prizes will be posted on every LOTM.

They can redeem their prize at any time. They must PM either the Head Literary or someone who has access to edit the thread. From there the Artist who is helping the winner must PM an Admin and get their prize redeemed.

I believe we should, for the maximum prize, have someone donate items. Ideas?

Excellent ideas, Kreepy. Since you made the thread about this, along with rejoining the team, I'd love it if you would make LOTM #2. Rules and everything. Ubi's site shut down, so basically it is an empty shell. If you would be willing to start the point system, I'd save the files on my for each participant, but we need certain prize goals. Like if first place receives 5 points, what goal are they headed for? 5 points would be something mild, but we need to establish a hierarchy of prize levels.

We could always let you go ahead and post the contest. After that, you could specify that we are hard at work generating a point system based on the contest. We can just edit the original contest post after we get completed with it.

I am willing to post it but let's agree on some prizes first. I'll throw a few out there and we can decide on the values.

-Literary Artist Trial Period
-Donated Server Items (Thinking of a phat or something)
-User Titles

I'm thinking of splitting the server items because we want a good balance within the prizes. Maybe a phat for the highest and Rune (or something) for the lowest. Just throwing those out there.

Once the prizes are agreed on, I'll run them by an Admin and immediately post the LOTM.
 
I don't play the server, so, I can't contribute towards that. Sorry.

They sound pretty good to me.

A trial period is a unique idea. Haven't seen it around before. Nice touch.

I have two problems with the donated part thought. When the users want to redeem their prize, again at any time, what if we didn't have an adequate amount? That is IF we get an individual(s) to donate. When we fully agree, I will or Shen will, talk to an admin.

I don't think we should use anything server related to this because it is a forum event. We don't want people to throw some **** together for server items, we want them to do it to enjoy it and join the section.

True however, we want them to benefit both ways. That's how I see it at least. I doubt anyone will donate but I believe we should leave it in there.

If we choose server items as a reward, I do not think we should mention it in the thread because it could possibly motivate people to rip others' work to win those items, or put some ****ty piece up. The last thing we want is a bunch of terrible pieces and leeched work.
 
Then lets do the good ol' Mystery Prize! :eek:
 
I'm not trying to say those prizes are bad, I just believe that a forum event should relate with a forum prize.

When the server goes, what does the user have to show for his accomplishment?

His pride and that's all that matters.

In all seriousness, could we give him a signature of some sort? For each winner, a different sig?
