Slow Updates: We are having updates not go out immediately to fix the situation even though the magic nerf was informed ready to go in the next restart and that was close to over 14 hours ago. Magic is still being abused and the economy is hurting terribly. While I understand devs have lives too. The update should have been pushed out the moment it was ready.
He didn't mention nech hp, because its not nowhere near as critical as magic. its just that
Are you sure about that? you currently have 1 skill in highscores top 1 lol. I have 4, still up for reset. I'm just realistic unlike you, because I know I would still play after a reset like others would for sure.
Now let's go back to you then: weren't you the one on plasma's ass about a reset because of how the release of the server was handled? And complaining and flaming non stop about the client?
So in reality here's some logic for you: resets are good if it's convenient for you.
And I'm going to be perfectly clear, I'm up for what the community decides. Just don't bullshit saying its for the best of the community when in reality its for your convinience
You just keep talking nonsense and your points aren't valid or make sense together. Stop spamming the same thread with multiple posts and take the time to write out your ideas with some reason. You start off with a semi-decent idea then just go sideways with it and end up not completing a single thought.
Things we all agree on:
- Magic being turbo overpowered
- Boss HP changes for Nech etc.
Things we disagree on:
- The effect on the health of the game / economy
- The need to reset the game
As discussed in discord yesterday, despite magic being overpowered - there was no distortionary effect on the game as a whole. The idea that Nech wouldn't have been easily camped if magic wasn't OP is silly. It's Dodian, you can go to Nech with an inventory full of lobbies and an addy scim and solo it. We aren't talking about killing Zuk in OSRS.
The only real argument is that due to a combo of HP and Magic, the bosses were being killed on a much faster cycle and thus items were injected faster than they would be otherwise. That is valid to a degree, but let's think about it logically.
Nech is on roughly a 4 minute 10 second timer, doing the math to figure out Nech cycle time:
Let's assume that magic/HP issue let you essentially 1 shot him: 250sec respawn + 5sec kill time = 255 seconds full cycle
If magic didn't exist, and with higher HP, using a normal melee setup: 250sec respawn + 60sec kill time = 310 seconds full cycle
The game was released later in the day on Sunday, and these issues were fixed roughly at the same time on Tuesday. That makes 2 full days = 48 hours = 2,880 minutes = 172,800 seconds
We can now see how many more Nech cycles took place:
Magic/HP bug: 172,800 total Dodian release seconds / 255 full cycle seconds = 677 Nech kills
No Magic/HP bug: 172,800 total Dodian release seconds / 310 full cycle seconds = 557 Nech kills
Presuming that Nech was being killed 24/7 since the second that Dodian released(it wasn't), the debate here is over roughly 120 Nech kills. In other words, ~10 hours of killing Nech.
To be clear, this math is directional and I'm sure you could point out some small issues with my approach. But overall it's accurate enough and illustrates the point that perceived 'major issue' had a very limited impact on the game, especially if you think about it from a long term perspective.
In my view, the complaints are coming from an obsession with the Week 1 economy, which while I understand that Week 1 is very exciting etc. will ultimately not impact the server long term at at all.
